Brian Quinn and Cullen Bunn Join Forces on a NEW PROJECT - CENTRALIA!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Oct 29, 2020 at 01:38:58 AM

Hey, everyone! I just wanted to let you know that Brian Quinn and I both have stories in the upcoming book CENTRALIA!

This book collects six stories of mystery and horror that take place in various towns of Centralia all over the United States. Writers of the stories include Heath Amodio, Brian Keene, Adam Cesare, Michael Patrick Hicks, Brian Quinn, and myself! Each writer has created a new supernatural detective for the project.

Six unlikely heroes — a necromancer who carries a secret the Lords of the Dead will kill to protect, an ex-special forces combat magician, a clockwork robot detective, a professor of occult studies who refuses to stand idly by when evil rears its ugly head, a young blind psychic who sees through her grandmother's eyes, and a martial artist with an affinity for cryptids — find themselves facing the forces of evil attempting to breach the gates and slither into the world.

Can you guess which characters Brian and I created?

While each of the stories in the collection stands alone, the plan is to do a series of these books, with the characters we've created meeting and interacting in a much larger overarching tale.

The book is available in paperback and on Kindle! You can order it right now! If you order it, read it, and love it, please consider leaving us a review. It makes a huge difference! Thank you!

DEMOCRITUS BRAND AND THE ENDLESS MACHINE
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Jul 08, 2020 at 01:28:05 PM

Hey, everyone!

I wanted to give you a heads up about my exciting new Kickstarter project that is now live! DEMOCRITUS BRAND AND THE ENDLESS MACHINE is LIVE!

JimmyZ Johnston, Federico de Luca, and I are  launching the campaign to fund the release of the first two issues of this steampunk/horror comic book series. I'm co-writing with JimmyZ. De Luca is handing art chores. Simon Bowland is lettering the series. Baldemar Rivas is providing a variant cover for the first issue. Depending on stretch goals, we might even have a few other creative surprises along the way.

Democritus Brand is a new adventurer in a steampunk version of the Victorian era. Exploring the world via his state-of-the-art airship, accompanied by a host of skilled companions, Brand is a kind of archaeologist who is seeking the truth about the steam-driven wonders that have changed the world forever. This truth, of course, is not necessarily all that pleasant.

In 1861... an excavation in Egypt uncovers a most unusual mummy. The body is a fusion of preserved flesh and strange steam technology, like a steam-era cyborg... but the mummy is THOUSANDS of years old. This represents a vast, alien technology that came to Earth centuries ago. Could this be how the pyramids and the Sphinx were constructed? This discovery launches a neo-industrial revolution--a burgeoning age of steam and clockworks. From advanced locomotion and flying machines... to streamlined communication... to pneumatic servants and soldiers, the steam-driven technology was meant to make the lives of the Crown's citizens easier.

But it spun out of control.

It is now 1891.

The Kickstarter campaign will fund the first two issues of the book. The initial series is planned for six issues, with more tales of Professor Brand’s adventures to come. We wanted to do something a little unusual with this launch. We have two full issues of art completed, so we thought it would be fun to offer the first two issues of the book at once.

All art assets for issues 1 and 2 have been finalized. Only lettering and final design needs to be completed before the book can go to the printer. We're anticipating a quick turnaround between funding and release.

I hope you'll check the project out and throw some support our way. I think that if you like my work, this will be right up your alley!

Update from Fulfillment
over 4 years ago – Sun, Aug 18, 2019 at 08:58:55 PM

Hey, everyone!

Got a message from fulfillment yesterday that all orders are shipped or in the mail. This includes orders with original art and pages, which went out last. So, if you haven't received it yet, be on the lookout! I haven't received my copy, either, but I have seen hardcovers in the wild. Signed some yesterday at a convention!
